Asus_Eee_PC_1016PAsus has recently announced that the pre-orders for the Eee PC 1016P and 1018P netbooks are now available, with price tags of $500 and $430 respectively.

Specification-wise the Asus Eee PC 1016P comes with a 10-1-inch screen that provides a resolution of 1024×600 pixels, an Atom N455 processor running at 1.66GHz, and 2GB of DDR3 RAM memory. For the hard-drive there are 320GB of storage capacity and the operative system is Windows 7 Professional. On the other hand the Asus Eee PC 1018P comes with the same processor and screen, but it has less RAM memory – 1GB – and a hard-drive with 250GB. The OS is also different, it’s the Windows 7 Starter.

The two Asus Eee PC 1016P and 1018P models have a 6-cell battery, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, LAN, and a slot for MMC and SD memory cards.
