Microsoft is looking to make a hard comeback in the mobile world with their forthcoming Windows Phone 7 mobile platform. In the past we’ve said we won’t know how the platform stacks up against the competition until some of the devices are outed. Well, if you’ve been paying attention, you’ll know that ust afew days ago Microsoft came forth to show us their whole line up of device. One of these devices was the HTC HD7 Pro.

The HTC HD7 Pro features a 4.3-inch touchscreen, a 1GHz processor, 576MB of RAM, a 5 megapixel camera capable of recording 720p HD video and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. While we aren’t exactly sure when we will see the HD7 Pro hit store shelves, it has been made known today that the device will be making its way to Europe early next year.

Of all the devices that Microsoft showed off to run Windows Phone 7, I think the HTC HD7 was one of the nicest looking. What do you guys think?

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is one of the most highly anticipated Android powered tablets just over the horizon. The Samsung Galaxy Tab is without a doubt the hottest Android powered tablet just over the horizon. Well just recently a leaked T-Mobile slide has surfaced that says the device will be dropping for $399 with a 2-year contract.

Is this to be believed? Well, considering two leaks have surfaced both from different carriers that say the same price point, we’re going to assume this is pretty concrete.

HTC is one of the leading manufacturers when it comes to Android powered smart phones. They’ve already pushed out several devices powered by the platform with some receiving critical acclaim. While there are many different Android powered handsets from many different hardware manufacturers, HTC’s offerings in particular have received critical acclaim time and time again. Today, the company has announced a new handset dubbed the HTC Desire Z powered by Google’s Android 2.2 mobile operating system.

The Samsung Fascinate is Verizon’s version of Samsung’s ever-so-popular Galaxy S handset. The Fascinate features the same 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 1GHz Hummingbird processor and 5-megapixel camera that the rest of the Galaxy S smartphones feature but throws a welcomed LED flash into the mix.

Considering the Samsung Fascinate is the latest Galaxy S device to launch, users have yet to have a great deal of hands on time with the device. This, of course, means the hacking community has their work cut out for them when it comes to rooting the device – Android’s version of jailbreaking.

However, it seems that said work load wasn’t all that massive as it was announced today that the Samsung Fascinate has already been rooted with the method available to all.

The tablet market has turned itself into a gold mine for hardware manufacturers thanks to the immense success of Apple’s iPad. As I’ve said in the past, due to this success manufacturers everywhere have been scrambling to get their own iPad competitors onto the market. However, until they are actually released we’re not going to be able to see how they stack up against the dominant iPad.

However, it seems that Samsung is quite confident with their own competitor, the Samsung Galaxy Tab. This 7-inch, 1GHz, Android 2.2 powered display has been talked about quite a bit but has yet to hit the market. Today, Samsung has said that when the Galaxy Tab does hit the market, they expect to sell well over 10 million units securing themselves 1/3 of the tablet market in the process.

If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll know that the highly successful Samsung Galaxy S smartphone has hit just about every US carrier in one form or another. AT&T has the Samsung Captivate, T-Mobile the Samsung Vibrant and Sprint the Epic 4G leaving behind just Verizon.

Luckily, Samsung hasn’t forgotten about Verizon Wireless and has spoken in the past on their plans to bring the Galaxy S to this carrier as the Samsung Fascinate. While we told you late last month that the device would be put up for pre-order, at the time we did not have a solid release date.

Those anxiously awaiting any news on the Fascinate will be happy to hear that Verizon has finally come forth to announce that they will be making the device available for purchase tomorrow, September 8th for $199.99 with a 2-year contract. Just like its counterparts on other carriers it will feature an AMOLED display, 1GHz processor, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, a 5 megapixel camera and the ability to act as a 3G hotspot. Of course, seeing how the Fascinate is only on Verizon, Samsung has also thrown in some EV-DO Rev. A connectivity for good measure. Naturally, Google’s Android mobile operating system is also on board powering the party.

Mobile devices of this day and age are quickly becoming on the same level as non mobile devices in regards to hardware. Of course, they still have a ways to go but the popular Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon processor, for instance, has already made its way into several hard hitting devices such as the HTC EVO 4G.

Samsung too has been beefing up their mobile line up with their own 1GHz processor dubbed the Hummingbird which has appeared in their ever-so-popular line up of Galaxy S devices. However, just because the Hummingbird is clocked at a noteworthy 1GHz doesn’t mean Samsung is looking to slow their mobile hardware advancement anytime soon.

Today, the popular electronics manufacturer has come forth to speak of their brand new dual-core ARM Cortex A9 mobile processor dubbed Orion. This processor, clocked at 1GHz, features the ability to capture and playback 1080p video at 30fps. If that wasn’t already enough for you, the Orion processor packs 5x the performance of the Hummingbird when it comes to 3D graphics renderings – pretty amazing. To top it all off? Samsung says the processor will be able to manage two on-device displays in addition to an external monitor.

Too bad this won’t be appearing in the Samsung Galaxy Tab but we can only assume that Samsung will include it in a future device. Dual-core Samsung Galaxy S 2 anyone?

The tablet buzz is in full swing largely thanks to the success of Apple’s iPad. However, it’s to be noted that the iPad’s reign over the tablet market will not lasst for long as several high powered tablets have been announced in the not so distant past.

One such tablet is the Samsung Galaxy Tab. This device runs Android 2.2, features a 7-inch touchscreen, 1GHz processor and front/rear facing cameras. While we know virtually everything there is to know about the device, one thing we don’t know is a price point.

Luckily, according to our sources, Samsung themselves have recently hinted that the devicew ill be priced anywhere betwen $200 and $400. The range between the prices is due to the fact that it’s currently unknown what carrier subsidies will look like as the Galaxy Tab will hit the mass market with a contract in tow.

LG has been one of the world’s leading manufacturers for some time now but that doesn’t mean they are going to slow up anytime soon. In fact, thanks to a partnership with Microsoft, LG will be releasing a whole slew of handsets that runs the forthcoming Windows Phone 7 platform.

We’ve seen several prototype devices from LG that have been used to show off Microsoft’s new platform and today two such devices have hit the FCC: the LG E900 and LG E720.

The LG900 features a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 802.11 b/g/n WiFI, Bluetooth and GSM 850/1900 band leading us to believe the device will eventually make its way to AT&T. The LG E720, on the other side, will run Google’s Android and feature EDGE connectivity which is just a sliver of its specs revealed by the FCC with more presumably coming at a later date.

T-Mobile has its fair share of Android powered devices just like about every other wireless carrier out there. However, when it comes to having the first ever Android powered smart phone, T-Mobile takes the cake.

Released in 2008 was the T-Mobile G1 which featured a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 528Mhz processor, and 192 MB of SDRAM. Compared to modern day smart phones the T-Mobile G1 may not seem very special but the fact that it introduced to the market Android 1.0 is what really makes the device shine.

Looking to expand on the success of the first device, T-Mobile will go on the release the G2. This device will be T-Mobile’s first HSPA+ enabled device and will feature a large touchscreen and slide-out QWERTY keyboard much like its predecessor. However, while we originally thought that the device would feature a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, contrasting reports have surfaced today that say the smartphone will actually come complete with an 800Mhz processor.

While this isn’t much of a drop, it’s definitely a point to consider if planning on purchasing the T-Mobile G2.

Android and iOS have without a doubt been generating the most buzz within the mobile industry but that does not mean they are the only platforms out there. In fact, Research in Motion is chugging along quite nicely with their recently released BlackBerry 6 mobile operating system and Microsoft has a hefty project cooking to the tune of Windows Phone 7.

Luckily, more pictures have leaked today of the E900 giving us a much closer and clearer look at the handset, as you can see above. Even better, we have some specs for the device which includes a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display, a hardware camera button, 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB port light and proximity sensors.

Pretty standard fare but it’s nice to see that these hardware manufacturers are looking to give as much love to Windows Phone 7 as they do to Android.
