While Google put a hefty marketing push behind their Android platform, the mobile operating system really got its start back in 2008 with the release of the T-Mobile G1. While not the nicest looking device ever, it featured a full QWERTY keyboard, a touchscreen and of course Android – all things that made the device a highly sought after one at the time.

Now that devices have been released that render the G1 ancient, T-Mobile is looking to continue the line up with the G2. This device, as hinted before, will be the carriers first HSPA+ powered device. Now, while we’ve seen pictures of the device in the past none of them have exactly been official. However, today, seemingly officials pics of the device have been released today which we’ve included for you above.

Along with the pics come reportedly officials specs for the device which include a 3.7-inch OLED display, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a 5 megapixel camera.

Still no word on when this device will be released or at what price point but we’ll keep you posted.
