Get ready to start emailing ecare Sprint customers because the price war for the HTC Hero has just begun.  Roughly two hours ago the second U.S. carrier launching the HTC Hero made a bold move and decided to price the device at $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate on new 2-year service agreements.  Not only did they beat Sprint’s $179.99 price point, but they also offer a $79.99 plan which is comparable to the $69.99 Sprint Unlimited Plan and they’ll give you a 2nd smartphone at half off.  Now the plan is in motion my friends, get Sprint to price match Cellular South and start enjoying Stuff Magazine’s Gadget of the Year on the cheap.
