WiFi-only HTC Flyer becomes a Best Buy exclusive

The WiFi-only HTC Flyer takes flight exclusively at Best Buy this spring. HTC announced the news at CTIA Wireless this morning before a hands-on demo event at Pemcom’s Mobile Focus event. According to HTC, all Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile standalone stores, as well as bestbuy.com, will have the WiFi-only HTC Flyer at launch.

If you can’t recall the HTC Flyer specs off hand, here’s a quick refresh: HTC Scribe technology, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, 7-inch 1024×600 multi-touch display, dual microphones for noise reduction, Adobe Flash 10.1 support, 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat, 16GB internal memory (eMMC) plus microSD card slot, and a 4000 mAh battery.

There’s still no word on pricing or an exact release date, “this spring” is about as good as it gets, for now.

Best Buy offering a free mobile hotspot with the purchase of an iPad

It would appear that Best Buy is offering more deals than just the free smartphones and waiving restocking fees.

Now they are offering a deal on the iPad plus MiFi 2200 bundle, which is normally $130. Best Buy is planning to give away these hotspots free of charge when you buy an iPad.

This ad was given to us by the 9to5 Mac, which means that you will have to sign up with a certain carrier, of course. You will get free Verizon FiveSpot, AT&T MiFi, and even WiMax capable Sprint Overdrive.

This will begin very soon, and should continue until January 2nd. That is almost enough to make me run out to the nearest Best Buy and get an iPad myself. Of course, I’d have to drive 70 miles to it.

Droid Incredible with white back plate from Best Buy

We have reported a lot on the Droid Incredible, such as two-for-one deals and one free from Dell.

Here is an offer on Best Buy for those that want white on their Droid Incredible. It has a white back plate, that is pre-installed.

I’m not certain if Best Buy is the one who is exclusively offering this deal, but here it is. Better get it while it lasts, I suppose.

Droid Pro is available at Best Buy for $50, $20 at Amazon!

For those of you who were hoping to get the Droid Pro for the holiday season will get your wish, at a lower price.

Right now, the hip smartphone is on say at Best Buy Mobile for $50, and if you want it even cheaper, you can get it on Amazon for about $20.

The contract still applies, and I suppose this is part of Best Buy’s commitment to good deals, like their free smartphones that they have been offering recently.

Best Buy offering free smartphones, again

Some of you might remember when Best Buy was doing their Free Phone Fridays during the month of October, and they are now offering a similar offer.

If you go into a Best Buy, you should be able to pick up a free phone from all major carriers, which include Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint. Of course, you will need to get the two-year agreement, but so far, the offer includes the HTC Droid Incredible, the LG Optimus, and RIM’s BlackBerry Curve.

We’ll see how this works for the company and for users.

Best Buy offering $50 off the Galaxy Tab on Black Friday

Best Buy may have abandoned their Free Phone Friday, but it is offering a deal on the Tab on Black Friday.

As you can see, the Tab will sell for $549.99 instead of the usual $599.99. You do have to purchase this from Sprint and Verizon rather than T-Mobile.

Considering that I have heard that the Wi-Fi only version of the Tab for about $499.99.

Best Buy leaks Nexus Two as T-mobile Nexus S?

Best Buy leaks Nexus Two as T-mobile Nexus S?

The Samsung Nexus Two, rumored and often fantasized by Android fan boys, has just appeared, albeit briefly on Best Buy’s website. The device was listed as a retailer exclusive, “available only at Best Buy this holiday season” with the option to pre-order, but within minutes of showing its face- the device disappeared back into the abyss of smartphone ambiguity. There’s little known about the Samsung Nexus Two at this point, we’ve covered the rumored specs, but quite honestly we really did not expect the device to launch today.

At this point it seems as though Best Buy jumped the gun on the Nexus S, but at least we have a little more evidence to suggest the device is in fact, real. As far as a release date, all signs point to this holiday season, exclusively from Best Buy and T-mobile. The pact set in stone between Google and T-mobile with the Nexus One looks to live on in the Nexus Two, formally known as the Nexus S from here on out. As we find out more details about the device and some release date information with substance, we’ll be reporting back.
