Motorola Bali Cell Phone Review–Not As Sunny As Implied
I’m really not sure why Motorola saw fit to call a cell phone the Bali, because this has about as much to do with the tropical port as I have to do with supermodels. But that’s what they’ve chosen to call this phone, and that’s what we’re left to deal with. We’re talking about the Motorola Bali, and it’s not going to be anywhere near as sunny and bright as the name would imply.
The Motorola Bali is a folder-style phone that offers a music player, a six hundred entry phone book, text and multimedia messenging, 1.3 megapixel camera, world clock, calculator, notepad, GPS, Bluetooth connectivity, mobile web, mobile email with support for several webmail services like Gmail and Hotmail, compatibility with the major instant messenging suites (Yahoo IM, AOL IM and Windows Live Messenger), a microSD card slot (great with that music player, but it only accepts a maximum of four gig cards), a variety of downloadable options and a battery that yields five hours of talk time on a single charge.
You’d be surprised what’s all in here–granted, this will never be mistaken for an iPhone, but it will offer many of the basics, and that’s definitely a good start. But, as is often the case with smaller phones, it’s got a badly cramped set of controls. Like I said, it’s definitely not as sunny as the name implies, but it’s still got a few good tricks up its sleeve.
If you want simple, then you should certainly spare a thought for the Motorola Bali.
The Good
A surprising array of features
Decent battery life
The Bad
Compressed controls
Ridiculous name
Score 6 / 10
