Samsung Infuse 4G Coming to Rogers Soon Complete with Android 2.3 Gingerbread
Samsung is one of the most well known names in the Android world with many different devices, including smartphones and tablets, on the market. While much of their success can be attributed to the Samsung Galaxy S, they do have many other smartphones planned and already on the market that are quite noteworthy. Of these devices, the Samsung Infuse 4G is a prime example with a massive 4.5-inch AMOLED Plus display, 1.2GHz Hummingbird processor, 1GB of RAM, 8/16GB of internal storage, 8 megapixel rear facing camera with 1080p video capture and autofocus, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, mini HDMI port and the usual range of connectivity options you’d normally expect.

Currently this device is available from AT&T but those in Canada looking to get their hands on the device are in luck. Rogers has announced today that they will in fact be picking up the Samsung Infuse 4G at some point in the near future with no solid release date announced. What they did let us know, however, is the fact that their version of the Infuse 4G will be running the latest build of Android – version 2.3 otherwise known as Gingerbread. This is in contrast to AT&T’s version which is still stuck on Android 2.2.
We’ll keep you posted when more information is made available regarding the release date.

Rogers Canada to offer Dell Streak for $599.99 No Contract
The Dell Streak is soon to be released by Canadian wireless carrier Rogers, but up until today we had not confirmed a price point. This all changed after a tipster leaked a purported screen shot from the internal Rogers product library, showing the Dell Streak with a retail price of $599.99. Also included in the screenshot is a 2-year price of $399.99 or 3-year for $149.99.
The Dell Streak features a 5-inch touchscreen running at WVGA (800 x 480 pixels), a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 8250 processor, 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and dual LED flash and VGA front-facing camera. The biggest hurdle for the Dell Streak has and will always be the Android 1.6 OS the device ships with. According to Dell, the Streak will be updated to Android 2.1 “later this year”, but with all the talk of Honeycomb and Gingerbread coming to the Samsung Galaxy Tab, what’s an Android fan to do?
